How Jesus Did the Process of the Gospel: RELEVANT COMMUNICATION in an Upside-Down World

As Jesus observed the world around him and reached out in positive appreciation and love to the harassed multitudes, He then engaged in congruent relevant communication with them.

How Jesus Did the Process of the Gospel: Observation - Seeing the Ministry of Jesus of Nazareth Unfold

Coming on the scene in rural Galilee of the Gentiles, Jesus demonstrated a different way of doing ministry than the pompous religious leaders of his day. He related to people on a very intimate level because he was familiar with their everyday lives. After all, he had been observing them

How Jesus Did the Process of the Gospel: What It Is and How It Works

The Process of the Gospel is a simple, practical paradigm for working with the living systems that God has made. I know it can help us relearn community, and become involved in doing God’s work in God’s way because I have used it successfully for almost fifty years. It is a pivotal part of Living System Ministry.

Something Beautiful: Giving God the Glory in Our Brokenness

Upon being congratulated for something, sometimes I hear people saying, “I give God the glory.”

It is good to give God the glory, but somehow it can have a shallow ring to it. It’s certainly true that He should get the glory, but God reads our hearts and He knows if deep down we really mean it. Or are we really saying, in our heart of hearts, “Yes, I really did do something, but I’ll choose to give the glory to God?”

Three Thought Patterns for Christian Leaders

In 1 Timothy 3, the Bible describes qualifications of Christian leaders. This is one of perhaps 20 texts that I have thought about constantly through 45 years of ministry, and in reading it, tried to understand how the writer thought. It has been my experience that if I can understand how a Biblical writer thought, and change my own thinking process to his, then I can much more easily apply the text in my daily life.

Nurture Spiritual Vitality Wherever You Find It

When we first came to Boston in the 60’s, we had a hard time finding spiritual vitality. All around us were decaying, historic church buildings in which mere handfuls of discouraged believers met. There was little spiritual vitality. Paying the heating bill was often the most pressing issue the deacons faced. It seemed that too many churches were simply trying desperately to survive, and had long since lost a vision for either evangelism or social responsibility.
