Normal State of Being

The term “living system” is normally applied to define life in some form of organism: A cat, a horse, a human body. But in our discussions, the term living system defines other realities as well. We see a living system as an orderly, complex and interrelated arrangement of living components that work together to accomplish a goal. So “living system” can be applied to not just the physical realm, but the social realm as well. An organization, church, city or country can all be considered living systems.

Living System Leadership

Doug and I have been greatly exercised to understand the characteristics of what we call, “Living System Ministry.” It has come to my attention that the issue of leadership is vital in ministry, and yet it may be very misunderstood.

Setting Truth Free

We enjoyed taking our children to the zoo when they were young. We were happy to be together, though it always made me sad to see creatures that were meant to be free in their own natural environments shackled in the small, artificial environments that had been created to house them.
